We never would have thought we'd be sharing a creole style dish because you know—Italian Cuisine and Louisiana Creole Cuisine are pretty different! But, we have a passion for good food, and Shrimp Creole is just too tasty to pass up! So we've found a way to incorporate our Classic Marinara into this amazing dish. Let us be the first to say it's not your traditional shrimp creole, but we think it's a pretty darn delicious take on the dish!
Ingredients
- ½ cup finely diced onion
- ½ cup chopped red or green bell pepper
- ½ cup chopped celery
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 14.5 oz can stewed tomatoes
- 1 cup Pasta Jay's Classic Marinara
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 dash hot pepper sauce
- 1 pound medium shrimp - peeled and deveined
- Crusty Bread, for serving
How To Make
STEP 1: In a large saucepan, melt butter or margarine over medium heat. Add onion, green pepper, celery, and garlic; cook until tender.
STEP 2: Mix in cornstarch. Stir in stewed tomatoes, marinara, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, and red pepper sauce. Bring to a boil, the reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. After stew simmers, return to a boil and stir in shrimp, cook for 5 minutes or until shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
STEP 3: Serve immediately with crusty bread for dipping!
